A Call to Trust

We live in a world where uncertainty, fear, and doubt threaten to consume us. Each day presents new challenges—financial struggles, health crises, broken relationships, and shattered dreams. It’s natural to feel lost, discouraged, or even abandoned. But there is one unshakable truth that stands through the storms of life: God is in control. The question is not whether He is guiding, providing, and protecting, but whether we trust Him enough to surrender our fears and follow His plan.

In a world that urges self-reliance, trusting God is radical. It requires faith, humility, and the willingness to let go of control. But those who trust Him find peace that surpasses understanding (Philippians 4:7), strength beyond human limits (Isaiah 40:31), and a future that is secure (Jeremiah 29:11).

This is your invitation to let go, lean in, and trust the God who holds your future.

The Sermon: Faith in Action

Where Do You Place Your Trust?

One question every person must answer is: Where do I place my trust?

Is it in money? A career? A relationship? Your own intelligence or abilities? Every earthly thing will fail you. Banks collapse, jobs disappear, people betray, and even our own strength will eventually fade. But the Word of God reminds us:

“Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away.” (Matthew 24:35)

True security is found only in trusting the One who never changes. Trusting in God is not a passive wish; it is a deliberate decision to rest in His wisdom and sovereignty.

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.” (Proverbs 3:5-6)

This verse does not say, “Understand God’s ways and then trust Him.” No! It says, “Trust first,” even when you don’t understand.

God is Fighting Your Battles

Some of you are carrying battles that were never yours to fight. You are losing sleep over things that God has already promised to handle.

“The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still.” (Exodus 14:14)

God is saying to you today: Give Me My battle back. You were never meant to carry the weight of the world on your shoulders. The enemy wants to exhaust you with worry, doubt, and anxiety. But faith is about surrender. It’s about saying, “God, I trust You even when I don’t see a way out.”

Stop trying to fix what only God can heal. Stop holding onto burdens He is calling you to release. Let go, and watch how God moves in ways you never imagined.

A Devotional: Learning to Trust Through the Storm

The Night is Temporary

Many of us go through dark seasons where we wonder if God is still present. Maybe you’re there right now. Maybe you’ve been waiting on an answer, a breakthrough, or a miracle, but it feels like silence. Don’t confuse God’s silence with His absence.

“Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for You are with me.” (Psalm 23:4)

Even in the valley, He is with you. Even in the storm, He is guiding you. The night does not last forever, and dawn will come. Hold onto hope.

Your Past Does Not Define You

Too many people live in the rearview mirror, dwelling on past mistakes, failures, and regrets. God is calling you to stop looking back and start looking forward. Your past is not your future.

“Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 3:13-14)

Forgive yourself. Let go. Move forward. God has already redeemed your past—why are you still holding onto it?

Faith Over Fear

Faith is not the absence of fear; it is choosing to trust despite the fear. Trusting God means believing that His plans are greater than your understanding. It means knowing that even if things don’t go as planned, God is still working for your good.

“For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” (Jeremiah 29:11)

When you trust God, fear loses its power. When you trust God, you find peace even in uncertainty.

Conclusion: A Challenge to Trust

Today, God is asking you to take a step of faith. He is asking you to release your worries, surrender your plans, and put your trust in Him completely. Are you willing?

Let’s make this personal. Right now, in this moment, pray this prayer:

“Father, I surrender. I release my fears, my doubts, and my need for control. I choose to trust You. Even when I don’t see a way, I believe that You are making one. I lay my burdens at Your feet, and I declare that You are in control. Strengthen my faith. Lead me, guide me, and help me to walk in Your will. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”

If you prayed that prayer, know this: God is already working in your life. Doors are opening, paths are being made straight, and your future is secure in His hands.

Let go. Lean in. Trust Him. You won’t regret it.

Final Thought:

God has never lost a battle, and He won’t start with yours. Trust Him today, and watch your life transform.
